FIRMWARE ENGINEER
£30,000 - £35,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
MDL seek to add a Firmware Engineer to it’s R&D Team – specifically involved in the development and maintenance of firmware used in laser surveying products. Embedded firmware is located on a range of processors and also FPGA platforms. The need may also arise for hardware design, creation of circuit diagrams and possibly the layout of PCBs at times. Knowledge of EMC compliance would be a benefit.
Ideally candidates should have the ability to meet some or all of the following criteria:-
- A degree level qualification in electronics/computer engineering related subjects.
- New product Firmware Creation
- Knowledgeable in Microprocessors ARM and FPGA development
- Embedded C, C++
- Assembler
- Support and Modification / Upgrade of existing product
- Circuit Design
- Setting out test procedures and proving that specifications have been met
- High speed digital design
- Analogue design
- Ethernet USB abilities
- PCB design and layout
- EMC compliance
