TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

 The Company Our client is a very established owner controlled business based in the Midlands. They have built an excellent reputation supplying precision machined components mainly to the automotive sector. In order to capitalise on recent investments they need to widen the Company’s client base and seek opportunities outside their traditional sectors. To achieve these objectives they are now seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to assist in devising a new business strategy and then implement the agreed programme.

 Working for the Managing Director your responsibilities will be; 

  • To identify and evaluate prospects and prepare sales budgets, agreeing specific target sectors / companies with the senior management team focused on expanding the company’s client base
  • To establish and maintain a regular cycle of contact with decision makers of prospects to understand short and medium term needs and to create/agree pipeline business
  • Effective management and improvement of specification, proposal, quotation and order entry processes and all other client communication whether written or in other formats
  • Assist in negotiation to maximise margin by applying an excellent understanding of product, market conditions, buying styles and clients’ needs
  • Undertake market research, analyse and utilise data to effectively shape marketing and product strategy together with the senior management team
  • Undertake a rigorous review of current product development procedures prior to devising and implementing strategies to ensure programmes are in tune with the needs of the company’s various markets
  • Create and maintain accurate records for future sales development devising and utilising CRM systems – ensuring sector and key account management is effective

 

This position would place the new manager at a pivotal point in a well established company
